This website is for the sale of fresh chillies only. We only sell what we grow ourselves – on Sea Spring Farm overlooking the English Channel in West Dorset – so our fresh chillies are only available when they are in season. The exact dates of our selling season is somewhat weather dependent, but will be from around August to November.

Seed

We also sell chilli seeds and of other vegetables that we feel are worthwhile, quality varieties that we choose to grow ourselves. Please go to www.seaspringseeds.co.uk for seed sales.

Being chilli growers our seed range, of couse, includes an interesting range of chilli varieties, including Dorset Naga, one of the hottest chillies in the world. The variety 'Dorset Naga' was developed by us over several years through making selections from an original and very variable population of naga morich, a Bangladeshi landrace chilli (see www.dorsetnaga.biz for the full story). Sea Spring Seeds is Peppers by Post's sister company, and is the only company entitled to sell Dorset Naga seed. Seed sold elsewhere has dubious lineage and quality, and certainly did not come from our seed crop, grown in isolation specifically for seed production by us at Peppers by Post in Dorset.

As well as Dorset Naga we also sell seed of several other interesting chilli varieties, including the stunningly beautiful NuMex Twilight. In addition, we sell three unique mini habanero varieties that we developed ourselves. Customers who have bought a mixed bag of fresh chillies from Peppers by Post are likely to have already tried some of these, and many people contacted us about them as they liked them so much. We have several other varieties that we are developing that we are very excited about, and seed of these will be available either this autumn or in coming years.

Items for sale

In 2010 we will be selling only four lines. All four lines will be habanero chillies of varieties that we have developed ourselves, ranging from no heat to world record breaking heat levels:

  • Apricot: Very very fragrant; thick fleshed (for a habanero) and delicious. Sweet/virtually no heat.
  • Trinity: Medium heat level. Ideal for someone who likes the habanero flavour but cannot take the heat normally associated with habaneros.
  • Jamacian Jerk: Hot, flavourful, big and yellow.
  • Dorset Naga: One of the hottest chillies in the world, but with a powerful flavour that transcends the heat.

The chillies are sold in packs which contain a minimum of six chillies, all costing £2.00

In addition there is a mixed bag: a pot luck assortment of chillies (different heat levels, colours, shape and flavour): £3.00

...then add p&p, which is:

1-5 packs: £2.25
6-15 packs: £3.50
16 packs or more: £4.75
